Pass the Passion
Pass the Passion
Caroly Du Rieu, Partnership Broker in the Riverland for School and Beyond recently had an interview with the ABC Radio Station to share her hard work to return her patch of local land to its native glory.
Caroly Du Rieu has spent around 15 years carefully harvesting and planting local native vegetation on her property outside of Paringa in the Riverland.
Caroly believes that while you can buy native plants from nurseries, the only way to truly propagate species indigenous to the area is to research what is indigenous and then harvest seeds locally.
"My dream is that every property in the country creates, or retains, 20 per cent of its land space in local Indigenous vegetation, which would then support our wonderful biodiversity."
Caroly hopes that everyone can find some time and space to nurture native vegetation.
